NHS Barnsley CCG and partners are working together to ensure that the pain management treatments provided to Barnsley people are up to date with current clinical national guidance.

The CCG wants to gather feedback on people’s experience of treatments for ongoing pain. The more feedback the better, to help ensure that future services meet the needs of the local people.

Pain clinic treatments vary but usually offer a variety of options aimed at relieving long term pain, such as painkilling drugs; injections; acupuncture or cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).  People can be referred to a pain clinic by their GP or other healthcare professional.

For people who struggle with long-term pain, treatments can help lessen the pain, improve independence and help them cope more in general. People across the borough had around 10,500 appointments for pain management treatment during 16/17 alone.

If you or a someone you are a carer for, has had, or currently receives, treatment for pain management, the CCG would like to hear from you.

To feedback visit www.barnsleyccg.nhs.uk/haveyoursay or call 01226 433738 for a copy of the survey, or to register for a feedback session on Wednesday 23rd August in Barnsley.

The closing date for feedback is 28 August 2017.
