FAST

When stroke strikes, act FAST

Help us raise awareness of the visible signs of stroke. The Act FAST campaign is designed to inform the public about FAST – Face, Arm, Speech, Time to call 999. FAST is a simple test to help you to recognise the signs of stroke and understand the importance of emergency treatment. The faster a stroke patient receives treatment, the better their chances are of surviving and reducing long-term disability.

Face – Has their face fallen on one side?  Can they smile?
Arms – Can they raise both arms and keep them there?
Speech – Is their  speech slurred?
Time – Time to call 999 if you see any single one of these signs

If someone you know has any single one of these signs then act FAST.

Think you know the signs? Take the Act F.A.S.T test here. Once you've taken the test you can share it with your friends and family via email.
