Barnsley CCG is a membership organisation which makes clinically led decisions that give patients and their carers a voice and put them at the heart of our work. We have a range of key governance documents which set out the arrangements we have put in place to ensure we conduct our business in a way which meets our statutory and regulatory duties, promotes accountability and transparency, and achieves good value for the people of Barnsley. These key documents are:

  • Our Constitution: the Constitution sets out the powers that the member practices have decided to reserve to themselves as members of the CCG, and which powers they have decided to delegate to the Governing Body and its committees. It describes the governing principles, rules and procedures that the member practices have established to ensure accountability and probity in the day to day running of the CCG and to ensure that it remains true to its vision.
  • Our Governance Handbook: the Governance Handbook supports the Constitution by bringing together in one place the CCG’s wider governance arrangements, including details of the committee structure, with each Committee’s respective terms of reference, decision-making powers and membership.
  • Registers of interests, sponsorship, gifts, and hospitality: these are published in the interests of transparency so that our stakeholders can be assured that our decision making is fair, objective, and free from undue influence.
