GP Patient Reference Groups

All of the GP practices in Barnsley have some form of patient participation, or reference, group (PRGs/PPGs). These are groups of practice staff and patients who have an interest in health and care issues in their local community.

These groups are run in different ways - some meet face to face, others by email or on social media. You will be able to find out what your practice group does by asking your receptionist or visiting your GP practice website.

To see what your group is doing check out your practice website or ask at reception.

Representatives from these groups are invited to, and form, the Barnsley Patient Council, who get together each month to feedback from their own practices and help influence Barnsley borough-wide plans and policies.
